SafeZone Alternator

The SafeZone Alternator is a flameproof brushless Alternator used in hazardous flammable environments.

It is designed to be used in underground coal mines as well as in the petrochemical gas industry. The SafeZone alternator is a self-exciting alternator which can be used in both dc battery or battery-less systems. This is an OE product currently used on Sandvik underground machines.

The SafeZone alternator is designed using the latest technology and incorporates, a PSoC (Programmable System on a Chip microprocessor) which permits up to half of the hardware design to be developed and hosted internally on the micro controller. This reduces the circuit component count, which significantly increases the MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) reliability.

This design combination is the result of continuous developing, testing and research with other O.E.Ms. This has resulted in a rugged, highly reliable and efficient product, making the SafeZone alternator one of the most sophisticated and safest alternators used in hazardous atmosphere.

The alternator has a high degree of built-in safety protection that detects hazardous electrical faults and conditions which could lead to an ignition in an explosive gas environment. When a fault condition is detected the supply of current to the equipment/vehicle is interrupted.
